Everything is just about ready now for the SMR run. I decided based on weather to try and wear my textile Tourmaster and pack my lighter mesh Tourmaster. As much of my travel is at night I thought that I better try and wear the heavier jacket for the trip down.
I really cannot pack it.. so I tried to pack the mesh in the panniers, got it in ok, with some slight "persuasion". My only concern now is that I may be too warm but there is also some rain in the forecast and the Transition jacket is also waterproof. I will look Wednesday after work to see if I can find a way to strap that to my Tail Bag should it get too warm on the way down or back.
I did find a couple other items I forgot to pack up so have gathered and/or made a list for them. Finally staging will be Wednesday night as I work at Liberty House Tuesday night.
I have ordered a Tail Rack for teh GS but it will not arrive until after this trip.
I will have SPOT along for tracking duties.... Feel fre to check in on SPOT from Thursday through Sunday.

Hi Pat,
Take an electric vest if you have to travel light. I find wearing a rain jacket over a light jacket, with the electric vest plugged in underneath, works quite well when it gets cool. You can wear the vest unplugged when it warms up.
Also, try working the clutch when in the tough stuff off-road. When you disengage and coast thru downhill rough spots, like riding a mountain bike, the bike's suspension handles alot better than when being driven by the rear wheel.
Have a great trip and we'll do some NH DS stuff when you get back!

Test rode a KTM 990 Adventure today at Funspot at the Weirs. Nice bike, quick, torquey, light on the road. The seat is kinda hard, as most KTM seats are, but not much vibration made it through to the seat or handlebars. The minimalist fairing and stock windshield seemed to do a pretty good job of wind protection. All in all I was pretty impressed!
So many bikes, so little time...
